Every asphalt failure starts the same way: a hairline crack. Water runs into it, gets under the pavement, and washes out the stone base that holds everything up. Then a Northwest Ohio winter arrives, that water freezes, expands, and pries the crack wider. One season later you are not looking at a crack anymore. You are looking at a broken section and a patching bill.
Crack filling stops that chain reaction for a fraction of what the repair costs. We use hot-applied SealMaster CrackMaster rubberized sealant, melted in a kettle and poured at temperature so it flows deep into the crack and bonds to both walls. It stays flexible through freeze and thaw instead of shrinking out like the cold-pour material sold in buckets.
SealTek has been filling cracks across Findlay and Hancock County for more than two decades, on everything from single driveways to national retail lots. Because we also sealcoat, patch, and pave, you get a straight answer about which one you actually need instead of a pitch for the most expensive option.
Our process
How crack filling jobs run
- 1
Walk and measure
We measure crack linear footage, check crack width, and flag any areas that are past filling and need patching instead.
- 2
Clean every crack
Cracks are blown out with compressed air and cleared of dirt, vegetation, and old failed filler. Sealant bonds to clean asphalt, not debris.
- 3
Heat the CrackMaster
Rubberized sealant is melted in the kettle to manufacturer temperature. Too cool and it will not penetrate the crack; too hot and the binder breaks down.
- 4
Fill and level
Hot sealant is applied directly into the crack and squeegeed flush, so the surface stays smooth and water sheds instead of pooling.
- 5
Cure and seal
Filler sets up fast. If sealcoating is part of the job, we come back over the top so the whole surface finishes uniform black.

Common questions
FAQs
How much does crack filling cost in Findlay?
It is priced by linear foot of crack, so the number depends on how much cracking your pavement actually has and how wide it runs. We measure on site and give you a firm number, free, usually within one business day.
What is the difference between hot pour and cold pour crack filler?
Cold pour is the bucket material sold at hardware stores. It shrinks, pulls away from the crack walls, and often fails within a season or two. Hot-applied rubberized sealant is melted and poured at temperature, penetrates deeper, bonds to both walls, and flexes with the pavement through freeze and thaw.
When is a crack too far gone to fill?
Once an area has broken into interconnected pieces, filling will not hold it. That section needs patching or replacement. We tell you which is which up front rather than filling something that is going to fail anyway.
Should I crack fill before sealcoating?
Yes, always. Sealer is a thin protective coat, not a filler. Cracks get sealed first, then the sealcoat goes over the top. Doing it in the other order wastes both.
Do you fill cracks on commercial parking lots too?
Yes. Crack filling is part of every commercial maintenance program we run, and we phase the work so sections stay open while crews move through the lot.
How far do you travel from Findlay?
A 60-mile radius covering Hancock, Wood, Allen, Putnam, Seneca, Wyandot, and Hardin counties, including Lima, Bowling Green, Fostoria, and Tiffin.
